This Thunderbolt Mini DP male to male cable is most commonly used to connect a mini displayport computer or laptop to the new 27" iMac computer that has a mini displayport input. With this cable you can use your 27" iMac as a display for your other Thunderbolt Mini Displayport equipped computers.

Does not work with MBP and new 2011 27 iMAC

I had a great experience with CA's Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter which I use to drive a Dell 24 monitor at work.
I ordered this product since it had "Thunderbolt" in its name. I tried connecting my MBP running Snow Leopard to a 2011 27 iMac and nothing happened. After researching the issue a bit I came to the conclusion that is not a true "Thunderbolt" cable with active electronics inside to drive the iMAC display.
Disappointed.
