CAT5 to Serial

Control up to 4 Matrix Switchers from up to four remote locations using CAT5 Cables

The Gefen CAT5 to Serial Remote Hub allows the control of 4x4 Matrix Switcher units from up to four separate locations allowing flexible options for complete control. This device also remotely controls a 4x1 Switcher unit via the first CAT-5 output jack.

How It Works

The CAT5 to Serial Remote Hub connects to the 4x4 Matrix switcher via RS-232 serial cable. CAT5 cables extend from the Serial Remote Hub to as many as four 4x4 Matrix RMT cabled remotes up to 1000 feet away each. Each 4x4 Matrix RMT Remote Control unit selects one of the inputs from the 4x4 Matrix Switcher to be displayed on the corresponding output port assigned to that RMT Remote.

Note:  Shielded CAT5/CAT6 cables must be used for proper signal preservation and electrical grounding.
